| Looking for an early series space monster |
[24 Jul 2008|10:11pm] |
There's a monster from a 3rd 4th Doctor (I think) series that I've been trying to work out the proper name spelling of for a search; it has people being bitten by giant greenish maggots, which turn them into maggots themselves. It's not the Green Death, as I remember it was set on a space station, and the maggots eventually morphed into mosquito-like giant insects. If anyone knows, that'd be great! Eta: I think the name of the monsters sounded something like 'willim'
Eta-2: Question answered, thanks!

| Doctor Who - Doctor Who? - Dr Who? - Dr. Who? |
[24 Jul 2008|11:54am] |
I can't believe I found a massive thread on Outpost Gallifrey (or whatever they call it now) this morning discussing whether the show should be renamed to "Dr Who".
Obviously this would never happen, but I thought we could have our own silly discussion :)

This is a re-post, as I kind of had bad timing the first time round. I posted the fic just before the community was inundated with review posts dealing with either the second last episode or the season finale. But considering what happens in the season finale I though this fic was appropriate. So I hope you enjoy!
Title: The Room Rating: PG Characters: The Doctor [TARDIS sort of] Spoilers: None Disclaimer: I don't own the characters from Doctor Who

| Thoughts... |
[24 Jul 2008|10:40am] |
There's been a few cases recently where kids have been killed due to mistakes on the part of the parents. A couple of kids left in the back of cars, one quad-bike incident.
In all cases, the parents have been prosecuted. I'm actually not too sure about this. Having your child die is bloody awful. Being unwittingly responsible for it must induce a level of guilt and misery frankly I never want to experience. I doubt that there is anything the law can do that would punish the people concerned worse than they will punish themselves for the rest of their lives.
It appears, in all cases, to be a total accident. Accidents do happen. There appears to be a tendency at present to assume that if any injury happens to anyone then someone must be to blame and someone must be prosecuted.
Let those who have never forgotten anything and never had an accident cast the first stone. I think these parents should be left alone by the law.

It's the last ever Hospital Radio tomorrow night. A bit of an end of an era thing really but the main dj has moved to London and the other had too many other commitments or something. I've never actually been as it's not my sort of thing (probably - how would I know? - I've never been! :P) but just thought I'd give those of you on my FList who do attend a bit of a heads up so you can get your ass down there for the last one.
in other news. where *is* everyone today? *pokes the internet with a stick*
